I’m Sick of Debating My Humanity as a Trans Person

UPDATE 5/6/20: I recently realized that most of the pressure I felt trying to be a “respectable trans” came from myself, not other people. Yes, respectability politics do exist, but after doing some reflecting during the past few months, I realized I was putting the most pressure on myself. Everything else is still true, though.
